Joy Thomas

Joy Thomas has over 30 years of experience as a paralegal, including work in oil and gas, class action, personal injury, corporate, and general practice law firms. For the past 21 years, she has been with Clinkscales Elder Law Practice, focusing on estate planning, life care planning, corporate matters, and Medicaid planning. Her primary focus is helping clients qualify for Medicaid and structuring resources in a way that helps avoid probate.

Joy enjoys working closely with the Life Care Plan Team to help families secure the support they need for their aging or disabled loved ones. She values being part of a process that brings clarity and direction during important life transitions.

Outside of work, Joy spends time involved in youth ministry and missions, and enjoys being with family and friends, along with a good piece of dark chocolate. She often reflects on the quote, “When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.” — Peter Marshall.

A fun fact about her is that she roots for both the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers throughout the football season.
